Zlotnik Family Endowment Fund

My father from Latvia and my mother from Toronto were pioneer members of the Vancouver Jewish Community. My father, Abe, started a jewelry business on Hastings. Both were members of the Schara Tzedeck Synagogue with father also a member of B’nai B’rith.

Nancy and I married and had six children. During WW II I flew with the RAF completing 36 bombing missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Following the war, Nancy and I were very active in the Vancouver Community including Branch 178 of the Canadian Legion, Jewish Community Centre, Combined Jewish Appeal, Richmond Country Club, B’nai B’rith, Vancouver Peretz School and the Granville School.

Our children, Martin, Lynne, Mark, Lee, Alexandra and Garry, have taken leading roles in B’nai B’rith, Jewish Women International, Richmond Country Club, Talmud Torah, Louis Brier Home and Hospital, Jewish Federation, the Air Canada Championship and many other charitable, political, sport and business organizations.

Our family is committed to community involvement and ensuring that important community organizations are funded for future generations.
