Gropper Leadership Development Philanthropic Fund
Natie and I considered ourselves pioneers in the Saskatoon Jewish Community. My husband and I were the first Jewish couple to have been born, raised and married in Saskatoon, and we lived much of our adult life in that community, raising four children and being actively involved in both Jewish and non-Jewish organizational life. Natie was Chairman of the Jewish Board of Education for many years, and I devoted much time to National Council of Jewish Women, the Saskatoon Library Board and the PTA.
Our commitment and involvement was fuelled by a sense of responsibility to our family and to our community. When we moved to Vancouver in 1975, to join our children Mitchell, Peter, Risa Levine and Miriam, this commitment was strongly demonstrated by our involvement in the activities of the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, a commitment that remains vital and caring to this day. Our priorities have been to foster in our children Jewish values of leadership and menschlichkeit, and our Endowment Fund is dedicated to furthering these goals.
