Hyman/Karp Family Philanthropic Fund: Barry Hyman and Annica Carlsson Hyman

Different backgrounds but kindred spirits inspire us to contribute to the ongoing well being of our Jewish heritage. Our families, from Sweden and Winnipeg, had deep feelings for family togetherness, and this has manifested itself in our community service.

Both Annica and Barry make many contributions to Jewish communal life in Vancouver, either in their role as professionals or as volunteers. Barry is a professional fund raiser, and Annica runs the senior program at the JCCGV. She is also a valued leader in the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, and both she and Barry share a strong commitment to the Jewish Family Service Agency. Their dedication is predicated on the belief that it is each Jew’s responsibility to help other Jews, and Barry especially takes great pride in being a role model for his grandchild.

Both Barry and Annica have a desire to see that this endowment fund continues to support these values and goals and provides a legacy for the next generation.
