Leon & Rose Marie Glassman Family Philanthropic Fund

Our parents, Leon and Rose Marie Glassman, arrived in Vancouver from Regina in 1962, with us three children all under the age of four. Many of our early memories revolve around our parents’ myriad community activities. Talmud Torah, Beth Israel Synagogue, United Jewish Appeal, the Jewish Community Fund and Council and the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University are but a few of the organizations that have benefitted from our parents’ time, organizational and leadership abilities and generosity.

Not content to simply do, they made sure that they taught their children why this work was so important – to them and to our people. That is why when our father reached the age of 70, we felt that an endowment fund established in his name would be a most fitting tribute to the values that he has stood for throughout his life.
