The Jewish Community Foundation has been a funder of Jewish communal institutions for more than three decades. Our depth of experience, combined with our close relationship with the community’s central planning organization, Jewish Federation, provides us with in-depth knowledge of community needs and positions us to work with our fund holders and organizational partners to meet those needs.
Through our Unrestricted Grant Program, charitable organizations are able to acquire the funding that makes it possible for them to undertake new initiatives, launch new programs, and address new and emerging needs in the community. The grant program also provides an important opportunity for organizations to acquire funding for innovative, start-up, and capital projects.
Each year, the Jewish Community Foundation accepts proposals, which are put through a rigourous review process by our Grant Distribution Committee. The committee is comprised of a cross-section of community members, and together they review applications on an annual basis. Grants are comprised of distributions from the Unrestricted Funds and awarded based on an evaluation of creativity, need and community priority, with preference often given to those that are of broad significance or that incorporate strategic partnerships. All grantees are registered charities.
Establishing an Unrestricted Fund, or making a contribution to one, is one of the best ways to support the ever-evolving needs of our community, locally, nationally and in Israel. Click here to contribute to an Unrestricted Fund or contact us today to get started.
