Jewish Historical Society Endowment Fund
The Jewish Historical Society of British Columbia was established more than 25 years ago to celebrate the history of B.C.’s Jewish community, and to collect archives and promote research which will ensure that the people and accomplishments of this community will never be forgotten. The dedicated individuals who began the Society have watched and fostered its growth over these years from a home-based enterprise to a professionally-equipped office and archival facility in Vancouver’s Jewish Community Centre. The Society archives now hold more than 40,000 photographs, the documents of many long-standing community organizations, and a library of 250 oral history interviews. Its accomplishments include an historical video, a biannual journal, many publications, a television program that appeared on community cable, and numerous thematic exhibits mounted within and beyond the Jewish community.
